I first became a vegan to control the hormonal rages of menapause. However after attending a kosher food convention at the jacob javits center in manhattan I could no longer rationalize eating meat, dairy or eggs. I maintain a kosher home and I do serve glatt kosher meat to my family because they are not vegans. For me though, I adhere to a stricter level of what is acceptable to consume. I hope for the coming of Moshiach and when the temple is rebuilt we will all be enlightened as to what Hashem wants from us concerning sacrificial obligations.

Having lived in a part of the UK with virtually no Jewish population, I found keeping kosher to be almost impossible until I became vegetarian. Since becoming vegan, kosher is easy!

I believe it was gods original intent that we be vegitarian... I have given you every plant with seeds on the face of the earth and every tree that has fruit with seeds. This will be your food. Genesis 1:29... and that it was only after he realized his creation (we humans) were imperfect and sinful and could not live up to his ideal he made allowances to allot for our gross glutinous impulses. After Noah he dictated what we could and could not eat as a means of limiting us and attempts to control our urge for killing and flesh. But God did not intend for the disasterous realities of factory farming and i believe we all... vegans... vegitarians and carnivors alike will suffer in the long run for ourSins! our greed and glutinous appitites for both money and meat!

It is much easier to keep kosher as a vegetarianism/vegan but unfortunately not all vegan companies are kosher. That's when it gets tough! Anyone tried contacting Sunneen to have them attain Kosher certification? They're a great vegan company but sadly not kosher. _link_y: http://sunneen.com/index.htmlHalachicly speaking, since many of you are at the least compassionate omnivores how do you feel about the morning prayer in regards to animal slaughter?
